Interview with Chivalry Legions

James: How did CL get its start?

Myronator: Well it matters which part you're talking about, do you want me to tell you about the original clans that formed CL or the actual merge that created CL?

James: The merge is fine.

Myron: Going back to around May/June 2005 then; what happened was LK (Legendary Knights) were struggling and needed help. Free Deem and Holy Lordz, two of LK's higher ranks, talked to Goku Nazz from TDC (The Dark Chivalry) who was leader at the time over a few months about a merge to save LK. I can't remember exactly how many times the merge was voted on, but I remember it took a few times before everyone agreed on it.

James: People were opposed to it?

Myron: Yeah people from both clans weren't too happy about changing the clans identity. There were a few LK who tried to form a re-make of LK later on but that didn't last.

James: How did the clans get along after the merger went through?

Myron: At first it was a bit awkward because members from each clan didn't socialize too much outside of their own clan, but we had a few successful pk trips and it brought people together.

James: Who were some of the members who stuck out at this time?

Myron: For me they were Goku Nazz and Free Deem who were leaders, Josh013 who was High Council/Warlord and Cuteenigma who was High Council. Goku Nazz was everything for us at the time.

James: Why is that?

Myron: Well he was our best fall in leader in pkri's by far, he was close with all the members and he was our main representative on RSC. Just by having him turn up to pk trips we'd all be inspired to do better.

James: What are some of your prouder moments in your clans history?

Myron: There are a lot of them. The first one would be clearing DS from GDZ and then leaving before they regrouped and returned. I know it sounds fairly weak but at the time DS were rank #1 and would hit every single one of our pk trips so to get one up on them made us feel awesome. The next would be beating TFC in a full out war. It was our first official war-win as CL and the first time we pulled 240 opts. Sent morale sky high…

Then there's the war with WG. We'd slumped only two months earlier and lost 20 members to a break off. We even lost Dezza69 and Rockinsummer (Co leaders at the time) to DS, but we managed to stick it out and after a few members came back, with Dezza as leader, and we got a few good wins and hit 300 opts for the first time against WG after a lot of flaming against them.

James: Why was there flaming between your clans?

Myron: Well late 2005 we declared war on WG and had it accepted, managed to get over 80 signups as coming on the first day, but as soon as His Lordship heard of this he cancelled the war. Of course he stated different reasons for cancelling though. It just frustrated us a lot because we were fired up for that war.

James: Understandable.

Myron: Back to the proudest moments... the next one would be the miniwar against TMRD.

James: I remember that. "Thomas wants you to tank it!"

Myron: Hahaha. Yeah that's the sig we had. We slumped again after the WG war and spent the next few months recovering and as usual we had a few good wins which led to us rising again and we pulled 300 opts again against TMRD to take the win comfortably.

However I'd say the proudest moment for CL was the last month before BH was made single. We went undefeated for the whole month I think, even beating clans like RSD. We ended BH on a high-note with a PKRI against Fools where we had 222 opts starting and ending at midnight. Sadly Jagex took BH away after that so it ruined our momentum…

James: As only Jagex can.

Myron: Shit happens, I guess. lol

James: What do you think makes CL stand out from other clans?

Myron: I guess I'd say our fighting spirit. Being an Australian based clan we get automatically labeled as "time zone huggers" but people don't realize that the times we fight are usually horrible for our members. The fact that our members are willing to wake up or stay up at these times makes us different to other clans. Although I know in top clans, their members would fight until 5/6am their time. I believe we are different because while we aren't as strong as other clans, we accept a lot of fights that we know will be in the other clans favor, but we still refuse to give up.

James: I’ve always said you aren't truly better than a clan until you can beat them on their terms. So what are some of CLs goals for the future?

Myron: Our main goals at the moment are to solidify our place in the top 10 and to start pulling 200 opts on prepped fights consistently again. We also want to start getting more members from other countries which has been happening lately.

James: Anything you’d like to add before we finish up?

Myron: Well I'd like to add that there's a lot more to CL than meets the eye. We know we're not the greatest clan out there but we're always going to take pride in what we do. CL has a lot of members that have basically quit RS except for coming to PKRI's for us (me being one of them) and I'm glad to have been a part of it all. Even though it gets stressful at times to be a leader in this clan I still enjoy it. One thing I would hope though is for other clans to give us more fights.

I find other clans refuse to fight us because of the whole time zone issue but they don't realize that we only stay in a PKRI if we're enjoying it. If we're getting demolished we will end instead of dragging it out. Most of our PKRI’s are less than three hours long which shows we avoid using time zones for wins. I'm proud of what we've accomplished. I've met a lot of great people in my time here and I'll never regret it. I know we are hated by a lot of clans but I want them to realize that the more they hate us, the stronger we become. We have strong ties in this clan and they can't be broken. I’d also like to add, as a clan, we've had a lot of low points and it’s always an inspiration when I get nostalgic and look back on how we would rise from these low points. Also, Martino Heat is the greatest fall in leader ever. Just wanted to mention him somewhere.

James: Where would somebody go should they find themselves wanting to learn more about CL?

Myron: http://www.chivalry-legions.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=28

James: Alright. Well that wraps things up. Thank you so much for your time and I wish you and CL luck. You have all of 2009 before you. Make the most of it!
